Clinician reviewing a patient record
HIE access in patient context, straight from the EHR.

Orbital Lite STS

Open the HIE record for the patient you are already charting on. No second login, no patient search.

One click from the chart to the community record

Without in-context launch, clinicians have to leave the EHR, sign in to the HIE portal and search for the patient again. Most stop doing it. Orbital Lite STS removes those steps.

Patient context, not just login

Orbital Lite STS sends the signed-in clinician and the active patient to the HIE in a signed SAML assertion, so the viewer opens on the right record.

Works with the EHR you already run

In production with MEDITECH and Allscripts (now Altera) sites. If your EHR can launch a web link for the current patient, a short technical call will confirm the fit.

HIE profiles ready to go

Profiles for CRISP, etHIN, Quality Health Network, Clinical Connect HIE and Ontario's provincial SSO standard are built in. New HIE profiles can be added.

An audit trail privacy officers can use

Every launch is logged with who, which patient and when, and logs can be sent to your SIEM.

Who it is for

Community hospitals and clinics

You want clinicians to use the HIE, but you do not have an identity team to build SAML federation. We install Orbital Lite STS on your Windows servers, configure the HIE profile and support it afterwards.

Health information exchanges

Your non-Epic participants under-use your viewer because launching it is clumsy. Orbital Lite STS gives them in-context launch against your existing SAML profile, with nothing new for you to build. Talk to us about listing it as a connector for participant onboarding.

In production at U.S. community hospitals and Canadian health networks since 2019.
